SUMMARY:Watkins Glen Track Event (Empire State Region)
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Empire State Region\, this HPDE (High Performance Driver Education) event provides Ferrari owners with an exciting venue to drive their Ferraris at speed\, with safety equipment\, driver instruction\, and in a safe and controlled manner to improve their driving skills.  FCA ESR events are NOT limited to Ferraris. Any make car that meets the track’s safety requirements and passes tech inspection is welcome (convertibles must have rollover protection). \nParticipants may be inexperienced drivers\, drivers unfamiliar with a given course\, or even highly experienced drivers who wish to improve their skills.  The registration form is attached below. Please register early and send the form and payment to Bob Coates\, the ESR Track Chair and Cc Mike Tepley as well. \nNestled in the beautiful finger lakes region of upstate NY\, this historic raceway has hosted NASCAR\, US Grand Prix. IndyCar and even Formula 1. An American road-racing Mecca\, it still hosts NASCAR as well as Ferrari and Porsche Challenge\, IMSA SportsCar Championship\, Lamborghini Super Trofeo\, etc. \nYou will need a SA2020 helmet or newer for this event!  Our Mid-Atlantic participants usually stay at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel.  We are not able to get a room block\, so if interested in staying there you can book directly from their website. \nIf you’d like to participate or have questions please contact Mike Tepley FCA-MAR\, mike.tepley@fca-mar.com so we can arrange garage space together. \nFor more information go to empirestateregion.com or contact Bob Coates FCA-ESR\, rc@parawire.com \nWatkins Glen 2026 Registration Form \nTech inspection forms and general track information can be found on our website on the Track Event Info page.

SUMMARY:Fall Karting
DESCRIPTION:Join the MAR for some driving and competition at United Karting near BWI Airport. We will host a private FCA member session for seat time in a competition kart. The karts provide top level performance for the veteran pilot but are also easy to drive for the beginner. This will be a fun event for anyone learning competitive driving and a natural complement to our Club autocross events! \n\nKarting will take place from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm\, and we will also host a short pre-event rally to the karting track\, starting at 10:00 am in Fulton\, MD. After karting we will adjourn to a local restaurant for lunch. \nNOTE: Even if you are not interested in karting\, you are still welcome and encouraged to join us for the pre-karting drive\, stay to watch the action and join us for lunch! \nFor further information\, please contact Lashdeep Singh\, lashdeep@fca-mar.com.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to share that the Salvation Army Mongomery County Corps Advisory Council is hosting its Inaugural Car Show\, taking place on Saturday\, October 3\, 2026\, from 8 am- 1 pm\, at 20251 Century Boulevard\, Germantown\, MD. \nThis event will bring together car enthusiasts from across the region to support The Salvation Army’s vital programs and services. The Montgomery County Corps is an affiliate of The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command\, serving Washington\, DC\, Northern Virginia\, Suburban and Southern Maryland. All funds raised at this event will remain local to strengthen services in Montgomery County. \nThe Car Show will feature a curated mix of marques\, community partners\, and family friendly activities. Your Car Club’s presence will be pivotal in establishing the tone for the inaugural year. Car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to showcase their vehicles\, connect with other collectors\, all while supporting the local Salvation Army. \nRegistration is not open. Our autocross is run in a test-and-tune format with unlimited runs throughout the day — many members get in 30 runs or more. \nInstructors are available to help you regardless of your experience level: whether you are just learning your way around the track\, or trying to shave those last few 10ths of a second off of your previous time. No special car preparation is required\, and loaner helmets are available for first-time participants.
