It’s time for our annual weekend of fun and adventure in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Our destination this year will be Canaan Valley Resort.
In addition to the usual amazing drives and social gatherings, this year’s trip features a couple of highlights:
- Visit to Ingalls Field. Ingalls Field is the highest elevation public airport east of the Mississippi. In addition to taking in the spectacular views, we’ll also have an opportunity for some “play” time on the mile+ long runway.
- Private tour of the Wayne Long car collection. Wayne sadly passed away earlier this year, but his 60+ car collection lives on. The current stewards of the collection are Rick, David and Alex Biafora, who will give us a guided tour of the collection.
Itinerary
Friday, Aug 15
- Gather at Ferrari of Washington (MAR sponsor) for a catered kickoff breakfast
- Scenic drive to Canaan Valley Resort, with lunch enroute
- Happy hour followed by an outdoor BBQ at the resort
Saturday, Aug 16
- Breakfast on your own
- Morning rally with lunch stop
- Visit to Ingalls Field
- Afternoon rally back to Canaan Valley
- Happy hour followed by a buffet banquet dinner at the resort
Sunday, Aug 17
- Breakfast on your own
- Check out and depart Canaan Valley
- Optional: Scenic drive to Morgantown, WV, to tour the Wayne Long car collection
- Optional: No host lunch at a local restaurant
